Teacher Tube

I found this idea and immediately could not wait to make one for my students.  At the end of the year I usually make a memory book that is filled with pictures throughout the year.  My students love these books however, they take a lot of time and paper to create.  Another downfall is that I am unable to print them in color so the pictures are not good quality.  I think this idea would be a fantastic replacement.  I could turn the book into a movie and then burn the video onto dvd's for students to keep.  It would be set to music and the pictures would be in color.  I can't wait to start creating this special memory for my students!

Podcasts

I enjoyed watching the various podcasts and look forward to using some of my favorites with my Kindergarten students.

Two of my favorites:

The one that I found to be the best suited for my students was "Hooked on Phonics".  This is a free podcast that focuses on helping children learn how to read and improve reading skills.
There was a video for each letter of the alphabet that was short and eye catching.  It taught the name of the letter, the sound it makes and words that begin with that sound.  There were also videos that had catchy phrases as to how to write the letters of the alphabet.  I think this podcast will be a great addition to my classroom.

Another one that I found that I think will work great in my class was "Candlelight Stories".  This is also a free podcast that offers stories.  The one thing that I disliked was that there weren't very many stories to choose from.  However, the ones that were available are familiar to my students and I know it would be a great follow up after reading the book in class.
